In a significant investment, the county has acquired a 101,312-square-foot office complex located at 9000 Town Center Parkway in Lakewood Ranch for $23.5 million. This new site, which will function as a second administrative building, is positioned approximately 15 miles from the county seat in downtown Bradenton.

This initiative comes as part of Manatee County’s broader efforts to streamline its operations and optimize service delivery by decentralizing its administrative functions. The departments slated to transition to the new facility include Development Services, County Administration, Government Relations, Human Resources, and Financial Management.

Beyond the purchase price, an additional $11.33 million is anticipated for renovation and equipping the building, raising the total investment to approximately $34.83 million. Despite the hefty price tag, county officials assert that this strategic investment is vital for accommodating the growing administrative needs of the Manatee County region.

Expected to reach full occupancy by January 2027, the new facility is poised to enhance government efficiency and accessibility in the county.
