Manatee County Expands Reach: New Lakewood Ranch Facility Enhances Administrative Access

Last Updated: September 21, 2025By

Manatee County has strategically expanded its administrative infrastructure with the acquisition of a new building in Lakewood Ranch, a burgeoning area known for its planned communities and business-friendly environment. This newly acquired 101,312-square-foot facility, located at 9000 Town Center Parkway, was purchased for $23.5 million. The county plans to invest an additional $11.3 million for renovations, bringing the total anticipated cost to around $34.8 million.

The move is a response to the growing need for additional space and modern facilities to serve the county’s expanding administrative requirements. The new building will host Development Services and six other county departments, making it a central hub for approximately 600 employees. This shift is part of a broader strategy to decentralize county services, allowing Manatee County to be more accessible to residents in different geographical areas, particularly in Lakewood Ranch, which has seen rapid population growth and development in recent years.

The relocation of these services also reflects a logistical approach to meet the demands of a changing demographic landscape. With the county’s population growing, the need for efficient and accessible government services is becoming increasingly critical. Notably, county leadership, including the Administrator and Commissioners, will maintain a presence in both the new facility and the original downtown Bradenton location, ensuring continuous engagement across different community sectors.

Such real estate investments aim to enhance operational efficiency and accommodate future growth. The move to Lakewood Ranch is aligned with urban planning trends that prioritize proximity to population centers and flexibility in government service locations. As Manatee County positions itself to better meet the needs of its residents, this initiative reflects thoughtful consideration of how best to deploy resources for effective governance and community engagement.
